Read MoreDecember 27, 2008 Real Hot Chocolate! A friend of mine gave me some discs of chocolate that were designed for grinding up and melting in hot milk. I was skeptical at first, but decided to try it. The first try was a little bland because I had too much milk in it, but the second try was absolutely the best hot chocolate I ever had. Here's the website of the chocolate company: Taza Chocolate I also had some of their regular chocolate bars which are quite outstanding. It's a different texture, but very delicious.
December 24, 2008 I'm Screwed Up... After 4 Doctor Appointments, 5 X-Rays, and an MRI of my hip, the doctor thinks I might have a screw sticking out through the back of my bone, into the hip joint. If that's what happening, I can understand why I'm in pain. Unfortunately, the metal screws really mess with the MRI images, and it's impossible to position my leg on an ordinary x-ray machine in order to get the full image of the screw. So, now I have to have a fluoroscopy at the hospital in a few weeks, with the possibility of screw removal.
December 9, 2008 My Screws Hurt I've been having a lot of pain in my hip over the past few weeks, and it's to the point where I can't walk without pain. Here's an x-ray that was taken last Friday. You can see the difference in the joints, but apparently that's just degeneration that's probably not causing the sudden onset of pain. I have an appointment with an orthopedist, but the earliest he could see me is Dec 17th. At what point should I just go to the emergency room? Photo by: Princeton Radiology
December 3, 2008 (1 of 2) Freaky dancers in masks. I've been working many hours this week, so I missed a few days of photos. I had the opportunity photograph a Princeton Univ. Dance show. Everyone is wearing these masks in one of the pieces. I think the masks are supposed to glow in the dark, but they aren't working...
November 23, 2008 Daily Monkey Business Everyday, Dynamo has the routine of taking his stuffed monkey into my bathroom. He tries to hide it under the bathroom carpet and then meows and scratches the carpet for up to 20 mins. I have no idea what his objective is. I finally caught him and decided to share the odd behavior. A few months ago, Hillary asked how the monkey was, so this is also an update for her. The monkey has had to have both legs and both arms reattached. Both of his ears are missing; believed to be eaten by a dog...
November 22, 2008 York Central Market House This was a spur of the moment shot without a tripod. I was unaware of the street light behind me that cast my shadow onto the sidewalk. I could've photoshopped it out, but I decided to be lazy and leave it in there. I really loved the wide angle lens I rented.
November 21, 2008 The Video of the Production Express Moving Light Time Code Demo. Make sure you turn your volume up before pressing play! I know I said that I wouldn't post any more shots of the expo, but guess what, I sorta lied. Here's a video of the moving light show, designed and programmed by Matt DeMascolo. I did press the record button on the camera, so I guess you could say I took the photo... If you're interested, HERE IS A LINK to the time lapse load-in video. If you look closely, you'll see me taking photos, as well as fixing some stuff towards the end of the video. It's only 3 mins long, so watch it! http://www.proexp.com
November 18, 2008 (1 of 3) Inside a moving light. We have an open Martin Mac 700 at the expo for people to take a peek at the inner workings. It's some pretty cool stuff and a haven for my macro lens. The light in this shot is coming from a RBG LED fixture running off of a Hog 500 lighting console. Questions?
November 17, 2008 (2 of 2) The hazy world I'm currently living in... So this is the dark, hazy, and occasionally loud and noisy (when the sound guys are here) that I've been working in yesterday and today. Tomorrow is the big expo, where about 100 of Production Express's customers are coming to see, sample, play with, and just be in awe of all the awesome new lighting and sound technology. It's pretty quite here today, but about every 60 seconds I get blinded by one of the 40 moving lights on stage. It makes it tough to manual focus my camera when I'm seeing spots.
