Flowers on the table with some side light from a flash.

Nothing fancy today, this was a last minute effort to get a daily photo.

Good news is: I found my missing tripod piece.

Other good news is: It snowed a little bit today, so hopefully I'll have a decent picture of snow tomorrow.

On another note: Lindsay thanks you for all the kind comments about her smile in yesterday's portrait of her.

CMY Color Mixing Module

This is the last shot I'm going to post of the expo, I swear! I thought this macro was too cool not to share.

For those who have been following my expo shots, here's a link to the whole gallery:

Happy February!
I was inspired by This Thread on DGrin to try the "water drops on cd" again. I like these better than my last try. I had better light this time, and of course my new macro lens, which is so awesome! I was upset to find the dust on the CD after I uploaded the pics. I didn't have the energy to reshoot because I was constantly trying to keep the cats from walking on the CD. I'll probably revisit this subject in a few months.
Anyone notice my new watermark??

Dog Wrestling with Bailey. He won. Somehow, I ended up with an injured toe.

Here's another shot of the dog wrestling.

I randomly took this shot the other day. It really doesn't have any meaning, I was just nuts.

Hip Update: I got my dressing taken off today, and I begin physical therapy on Thursday. The screws did not appear to be sticking into the joint, but there is some definite arthritis in the joint. After the surgery, the joint felt a lot better, so hopefully that will continue. In the not-too-distant future, I will end up with a hip replacement.

Waffle Macro
I lost the most important piece of my tripod, so that explains the shallow DoF. My cats have probably been batting the missing piece around, and I haven't checked under the couch yet.

A friend asked to borrow my waffle maker tomorrow, so I had to test it out this morning.
I was in a hotel a few years ago that had amazing make-it-yourself waffles. I found out what waffle mixed they used, and immediately ordered some. It's from Carbon's Golden Malted. I highly recommend trying these if you like waffles. It also makes pancakes, but I prefer the waffles.

Here are some other waffle shots from this morning. Dry, with syrup, and syrup and butter...

I've been delinquent from the dailies lately. 2 Doctor appointments and 3 different antibiotics later, I was referred to an Infectious Disease Specialist to diagnose my swollen knee. I've been missing out on a lot of fall colors this year, just because it's painful to walk long distances with my bad knee. So on my way out the door today, I figured this was as close to fall leaves as I might get for some time.

Wish me luck with the knee, and let's hope that it's not gout.

I bought $40 worth of fruits, vegetables, and nuts at Whole Foods this morning. I borrowed a light table from work, cut up and arranged all the produce 1 by 1, and took over 100 photos today. This was fun, but it was actually for a paying customer. He didn't request a nuts/grains photograph, but I had a nice variety, so I took a few shots.

The Healthy Foods in this shot, starting at the top left are:
1) Adzuki Beans
2) Quinoa (pronounced KEEN-wa) an alternative to rice or cous-cous.
3) Almonds and
4) Oats

Here's another shot of the Adzuki Beans, that I like much better.

I bought a rose just to photograph. The lady at Whole Foods thought I was being some sort of romantic boyfriend. I quickly told her that I was just photographing it, and that she didn't have to do all the fancy wrapping paper on it.

I had some Lightroom trauma this morning. The program won't open! It just says that there is a C++ Runtime Error. I tried reinstalling the software, but no luck. That leads me to believe something is going on with Windows. (no comments from you Mac users ok!?) Any help will be appreciated.
