This gallery contains Daily Moments that provoked a photo. I hope to add a new photo every day, but with my unpredictable schedule, there will be a few days lost. HERE is a link to last year's Daily Photos.

Just playing with the Macro again. I'm running out of interesting objects to get macro shots of. I found a pack of needles, and decided it was a good desperation shot for the day.

A beautiful portrait of my friend Blair. You've seen her before, and it's not hard to get a beautiful shot of her! I can't take all the credit!

More photos coming soon... For those on Facebook, you've seen them all already.

I Voted for the O.
Matt Pilsner > November 4, 2008 - Happy Voting!
After being up until 1am processing shots from the Operas I photographed last night, I managed to cast my vote by 7:20am and then head off to work. Then I found out that my internet stopped working last night, so a third of the photos I stayed up late to process, never made it onto the world wide web. And now, I'm finding that SmugMug is taking forever to do my thumbnail crop. Today is just not my day.

Here is a link to the gallery of the first 62 photos, hopefully I will be able to get the other 29 files uploaded tonight.

Anyhow, the shows were pretty good. I got a lot of decent shots. The second of the two operas was much brighter, so I was able to use ISO400. It makes a HUGE difference. I also primarily used my 100mm f/2.8 macro lens for the majority of these shots. Being able to stop down at f/2.8 with ISO 400 really makes theatre shots possible. But I don't recommend using a fixed lens unless you have plenty of open space to walk around in. I almost tripped on things a few times last night.

I'm supposed to have another photo shoot tonight on Princeton's Campus with my friends Rob and Blair, but I might have to give them a rain check, because it's supposed to rain.

A stack of CDs.

There has been way too many photos of people in my DP Gallery lately, and not enough macros. This stack of DVDs was sitting next to the window with some nice light shooting through them, so I decided to get a macro shot, instead of posting another boring photo of some person that you probably don't know...

Don't worry, there will probably be another photo of someone you don't know tomorrow. I'm taking photos of another show tonight. Dan (the guy in yesterday's headshot) asked me to get photos of the Opera that he's in, so that's where I'll be tonight, and you can expect to see one of the photos tomorrow...

I got this new Under the Desk Footwarmer, you guys should get one, they're awesome!

Dan's Headshot
My friend (and sometimes roommate...) asked me to take some headshots for him and the cast of an Opera that he's currently in. The cast's headshots look more like high school yearbook photos, because I was limited with time and space with them. However, since Dan lives with me, I had more time to get some great shots of him. Needless to say, this a bit more processed than the photos I usually post. I had to soften his skin (and remove a pimple or 6) and I sharpened the eyes. I probably spent about 20-30 minutes on this picture alone.

This shot is a rather funny one to me, and probably Dan, as well. He was making this stupid expression with his mouth, but once I changed the exposure in Photoshop, it made the shadows above and below his lips disappear, which made his expression look much less retarded, and more serious.

In case you're interested, HERE is the original photo. Thoughts?

These Cool looking candles were on one of the tables at the Pumpkin Carving Party on Thursday. I finally finished processing all the photos. HERE THEY ARE!

A few of my photos from that night also made it onto McCarter's Blog.

This is Henry, chewing on a cup. He was a peanut M&M for Halloween.
This is only the second photo I've processed from last night's pumpkin carving festivities. You'll definately be seeing more of this cute M&M again. I was too tired to do anything but upload the skull photo last night, and now I'm on way to work.

Happy Halloween!

Just a shot to match last year's photo from this day. Tonight was the annual pumpkin carving party at McCarter, so now I have 200 photos to process...
