This gallery contains Daily Moments that provoked a photo. I hope to add a new photo every day, but with my unpredictable schedule, there will be a few days lost. HERE is a link to last year's Daily Photos.

CMY Color Mixing Module

This is the last shot I'm going to post of the expo, I swear! I thought this macro was too cool not to share.

For those who have been following my expo shots, here's a link to the whole gallery:

It's not all about lights!

This is a shot of one side of a speaker array that's here. There's 24 speakers total, plus 4 huge subs. Basically, after today, I'll be blind and deaf.

Bird's Eye View

While I'm here to take pictures of the event, I'm also doubling as an electrician and stage hand. A lamp blew in a light on the perch in the house, so I multi tasked and took my camera up to the perch with me.

Inside a moving light.

We have an open Martin Mac 700 at the expo for people to take a peek at the inner workings. It's some pretty cool stuff and a haven for my macro lens. The light in this shot is coming from a RBG LED fixture running off of a Hog 500 lighting console. Questions?

The hazy world I'm currently living in...

So this is the dark, hazy, and occasionally loud and noisy (when the sound guys are here) that I've been working in yesterday and today. Tomorrow is the big expo, where about 100 of Production Express's customers are coming to see, sample, play with, and just be in awe of all the awesome new lighting and sound technology.

It's pretty quite here today, but about every 60 seconds I get blinded by one of the 40 moving lights on stage. It makes it tough to manual focus my camera when I'm seeing spots.

As Seen on TV.

This is a High End Showgun. This is one mammoth moving light. We have two of them here at this expo that I'm working on, and when I stand next to one, it almost comes up to my waste. It's almost 3' tall. If you ever watch the Today Show on NBC, you've seen these on their outdoor concert stage. I never realized how gigantic they are. The LED ring around the light is basically for aesthetics, but it does a great job of drawing attention to itself. I've been told that the LED ring can even be pixel mapped. One of these lights costs about $20,000!

The dots in the background are from the Soft LED drop. I don't know how much it costs to buy one of these, but I do know that they cost upwords of $35,000 per week to rent! It is an awesome piece of technology, but I can't say it's worth that much money.

The Truss and it's lights...

You had to know I'd bust out the macro lens at some point. We had to bring the truss in to fix some "high impedance air gaps" (AKA, something was unplugged...) so I snapped a few shots of the truss.

Lighting Command Center

I'm working at, and photographing, an expo at a theatre in York, PA. Today was the first of 2 days to load everything in and get it working. More photos and details to follow...

Berlind Theatre Panoramic - My First Attempt

I went in to work early today to get a few shots of the theatre and try to do a panoramic with them. I put 12 photos into Photoshop's Photomerge, and this is what it spit back out at me. It was too funny not to share.

Any ideas on what to do next? Do I need to start with more than 12 photos? I also used a wide angle lens at 10mm. Should use a narrower focal length?
