This gallery contains Daily Moments that provoked a photo. I hope to add a new photo every day, but with my unpredictable schedule, there will be a few days lost. HERE is a link to last year's Daily Photos.

Saffron -- The World's Most Expensive Spice

I had the macro lens out and ready, so I kept looking for small things to shoot. I was looking through the spice rack, and came across my small supply of saffron. Does anyone really have a large supply of saffron? Anyhow, I looked through my stack of colored origami paper to find something with a little contrast or something that would compliment the beautiful reds, yellows, and oranges of the saffron. For some reason, I chose the fluorescent green. I think it works...

Back To School

I'm not in school anymore, but I saw a commercial this morning (while watching the Olympics, of course) for a back to school sale. I was inspired...

Here's a second shot.

The Coconut Race Scorekeeper

I went to a Hawaiian Themed party last night. I won the coconut race.

Sorry for posting a non-artistic photo, but I'm being lazy on this rainy day.

Giant Lily Pads at Longwood Gardens

I went on another short trip to Longwood Gardens today. The real reason we went was to see a Blues singer who's a friend of a friend. But I knew that the Lily Pad Ponds would be open this time.
Here's some more photos from the day.

Self Portrait - Because it's been a while.

Some of you Smuggers take daily self portraits, or at least partial ones... I would rather stick a fork in my eye.

Anyhow, here's me. One of my friends already told me that I look possessed in this pic (probably due to my left eye going a little cross-eyed), and someone else made fun of my hat. The only thing I noticed is that one of my teeth looks shorter than the rest. Hillary? Can you fix that?

Here's a few other shots.

Favorite Shoes
These shoes were born in 1995 when I wore them on my first day of 8th grade. In high school they became my Marching Band Shoes as well as my lawn mowing shoes. Needless to say they turned green after all that. They've traveled with me to Japan, Belgium, Italy, France, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. In college, they were somewhat retired, but I still wore them occasionally. In 2003 I broke my leg, and these were the only shoes that I was able to get on my feet without enduring any pain. After college they became the shoes that I just mess around in. They've gone kayaking and jet skiing with me, and they are my general, easy to slip on, have to leave in a hurry, get me through the day shoes. Along with the tread on the bottom, the grass stains and paint spatters have all worn off. They shall live on for many years to come.

Lines and Texture

I was looking around the room this morning to find something worthy of a macro. I wanted something with both lines and texture. This multitool is all I could find. Lightroom 2 has some new features that are really awesome. I used the new adjustment brush on this photo to get more texture out of the handles. I suppose I could've done it in Photoshop, but Lightroom is just so easy. However, I'm having trouble with the "Export to SmugMug" plugin. It won't export my keywords correctly, and I can't figure out why. Any help?
