This gallery contains Daily Moments that provoked a photo. I hope to add a new photo every day, but with my unpredictable schedule, there will be a few days lost. HERE is a link to last year's Daily Photos.

The Screw

If you're ever in Princeton, and need wine, this place is awesome. Just ask for Dan, and he'll take care of you.

Herringbone! You know you want to see it!

I wish I had something more to say about this shot, but I don't. It's hazy, or "atmospheric" and colorful, but nothing too exciting. This is "as seen while looking up from Matt's motor control table"

Stairway to the stage...

This spiral staircase has led many famous actors and musicians to the Matthews Stage at McCarter Theatre Center. It's the main artery from the Green Room to stage left. It's rather difficult to have 2 way traffic on this stair case, so whenever you're using it during rush hour, be prepared to get close to those going in the other direction.

I like the combination of lines and diamond plate texture in the shot, but the OOF bottom step bothers me a little bit. I tried cropping it out, only to realize that it sort of finished off the bottom of the image.

Here's a slightly different shot of the same stairs, only in color... Which one do you like better?

Green Cue Light
While being bored during tech rehearsal yesterday, I took a shot of my green Cue Light. For those who don't know what a cue light is: Light On = "Standby" & Light Off = "GO." Most of my cues are from a verbal GO in addition to the Cue Lights, but a few them are during crazy scenes where the stage manager doesn't have enough breath to say everything, so I go when the light goes off.

I moved my command center backstage yesterday morning, so my new setup is a little different, but mostly the same. I still have the Pelican Cue light in addition to this green one.

For those in the Central NJ area, I encourage you to come out and see the show I'm working on. HERRINGBONE opens next Friday, Sept 12, and closes on Oct 12.

Motor Control Land...

I managed to get a quick shot of my tech table setup at work. On my table is a computer for running 2 out of the 3 winches, a backup computer in case the first one fails, a bird's eye monitor, an old school analog motor controller for the 3rd motor, 2 Cue lights (one of which happens to be shaped like a flamingo or a pelican depending who you ask), my book for the down time, and the "ShowStopper" which is the box with my "GO" button and a big Emergency Stop button. Did I miss anything of interest? Oh, and there's a stage in the background.

Quiet Afternoon...
I took this shot on Monday. I like the soft focus of the shot, but the composition is lacking something.
Thanks for all the Birthday wishes yesterday!

Happy Birthday To Me!

I made my favorite black devil's food cupcakes yesterday. Butter cream Frosting of course...

Just playing with light. This is SOOC except for a small clarity adjustment.

The light is coming from a white LED flashlight with a blue gel in front of it.

I was going to clean out all the dust from the chain, but then I thought it might add a little texture to the light. I was also lazy.

Here's another shot of the chain. That one is a little bit of "modern art." I didn't post it as my DP because I was unhappy with the focus.
